Last week

Three teams hit 150 last week and all three did it to somebody who deserved better. Coletrain22 put up 156.78 on ScoutTeamHero0630's 95, a 61.8-point beating, and did it with Davante Adams leading the way at 20.7 while Harold Fannin sat on the bench for 24.1. That is the flex of a 2-1 team, winning by 61 with the top scorer stapled to the pine. Marfffa went 150.54 on the back of 41.4 from Gibbs, which by itself outscored DuggyHowzer's entire starting backfield, and bdemeyer rode 35.4 from Smith-Njigba to 152.8 over dgaylord37's 116.58. Meanwhile farti hung 140.22 on teekist's 107.22 while starting Achane for 1.7 and TreVeyon Henderson for 3.9. When a team wins by 33 with two starters under four, that is not luck, that is cushion.

Now let's talk about DuggyHowzer, because I watched this one twice and I still need a minute. That lineup left 88.1 points on the bench. Eighty-eight. Kirk Cousins scored 22.2 in street clothes as far as this roster was concerned, which is one tenth of a point off matching Joe Burrow's 22.6 in the actual starting lineup. Meanwhile the tight end spot was Oronde Gadsden, added off the wire in week 3, who posted a clean 0.0, and Jadarian Price chipped in 1.2 at running back. Final score 150.54 to 107.9, a 42.6-point loss, and the bench outscored the entire loss margin by a factor of two. Man, that is not a lineup, that is a hostage situation.

The two good games were decided by a combined 6.54 points. gaylord757 beat chairlift 114.68 to 112.04, a 2.64-point escape, and here is the beautiful part: gaylord757 left 65.9 on the bench including Jacoby Brissett for 25.6, and still won, because chairlift's answer at running back was Emanuel Wilson for 1.4. Juwan Johnson went for 23.3 at tight end for chairlift and it bought nothing. Over in the other close one, JordanVM survived jessfox2 132.92 to 129.02 on 26.2 from Kittle, while jessfox2 got 35.3 from Bijan Robinson and then 5.8 from Drake Maye at quarterback in a superflex league. Losing by 3.9 when the guy who was supposed to be the value of your draft gives you 5.8, that one leaves a mark.

Standings after all that: Marfffa and farti are 3-0 and separated by 34.4 points scored. bdemeyer is 2-1 and leads the league at 461.2 points, and Coletrain22 is 2-1 with the best scoring defense in the room at 295 allowed. At the bottom, jessfox2 is 0-3 with 308.1 for and 438.4 against, which is the cruelest split on the board, and ScoutTeamHero0630 is 0-3 with 290.5 for while carrying the number one projected roster in the league. Somebody in this league is going to look up in week 10 and realize they buried a playoff team in September.

Performance of the week

Marfffa got 41.4 out of Jahmyr Gibbs in a 150.54 to 107.9 win, more points from one running back than DuggyHowzer's entire starting backfield and tight end combined.

The 88-point bench

DuggyHowzer lost by 42.6 while leaving 88.1 points on the bench, including Kirk Cousins for 22.2, and started a tight end who scored exactly zero.
